Restaurants

The most typical "Tapas" area is Van Dyck Street, where you will find different tapas' bars. In some of them the tapa is included with the drink.
Many places have "Menú del día" (10-15 €) which consists of a first course, a second course, dessert, bread and drink. We recommend you La Orquídea, Lilicook gastrobar, Zazú, Corte y Cata, Las Caballerizas, El Quijote or Mandala.
A bit more sophisticated restaurants (menú del día 20 €, à la carte 30-60 €): Lilicook, La Hoja, El Monje and La Parra (1 Michelin star).

Salamanca, the golden city

Salamanca was declared a World Heritage City by Unesco in 1988. We encourage you to take this opportunity to spend a few days and walk along the Plaza Mayor, enjoy the views from the Cathedral or Clerecía, look for the hidden frog in the University facade, enjoy the golden light which fulls the whole city at sunset, go for tapas, discover the cuisine (do not miss the jamón ibérico -ham- or hornazo -pie filled with meat) and live its nightlife.

If you would like to enjoy the nature surrounding Salamanca, we can recommend you the Arribes del Duero Natural Park, the Camino del Hierro hike, nice villages in the Sierra de Francia (La Alberca, Mogarraz) and in the Sierra de Béjar (Candelario) and the bulls' route (several livestock farmings organize guided tours to their farms and pastures).
